The connection between wine and art
Nashik-based Grover Vineyards has uncorked an intoxicating blend of wonderful wine and fine art.
First in India to come up with exquisite art collections on its wide range of wine bottle labels, the renowned wine exporter is set to showcase celebrated Indian artists like Jatin Das, Paresh Maity, Rini Dhumal, Rekha Rodwittiya and Sanjay Bhattacharya.
The director of Grover Vineyards, Kapil Grover, just introduced the collection publicly. He mentioned: “These wine labels are nice works of art that convey the vision, story and unique character of the best winery. “While the artist strives to capture the fantasy, the wine maker makes an effort to capture the taste and aroma. Put together, they tend to complement each other”, said Grover.
The works of these famous artists will reveal contemporary India and its culture. Aman Dhall, executive director (Brindco International Division) and one of the Board of Directors of the firm, said, “The labels have a subtle meaning in themselves. The art depicted relates to international standards.”
When asked whether this was the right time to introduce such a collection, Dhall said, “During such tough times, we should be creative and try to do something unusual. Showcasing the fine art labels can be considered a savvy marketing strategy.”
The collection comprises Sauvignon Blanc with Rini Dhumal painting at Rs 470, Viognier with Paresh Maity creation at Rs 440 and Cabernet Shiraz with Sanjay Bhattacharya painting at Rs 460.
